The next Melbourne meet date is confirmed for Sunday 26th October at Noisy Motel - 48 Porter St, Prahran. Timing is 12:00pm to 4:00pm sharp (pack-up will commence around 3:00pm for those with lots of gear).

I would love to come to one of these though eventually.

What sort of mod are your SR80s getting? My MS1s are still sadly more stock than I'd like

They are stock as we speak.
I have some Madagascar ebony cups on their way.
I don't mind the bass as it is but pending how the cups effect it maybe a hole mod.
Pending I am happy with the sound as a whole I will keep the sr80 drivers and do a detachable single sided mod with a 3.5 stereo jack in one cup.
Also a nice leather headband. But that can wait.
If I am still wanting more I am thinking about the turbulent x drivers but I have heard they are 'too' refined. I don't want to stray too far from that grado sound.

That and of course finding some pads/quarter mod I like most.
In the past I preferred the g cush with the rs1 and msPro. So will try that but am really liking the comfies with the sr80s so far.

What are you thinking about doing?

I tried making some wood cups myself, but it didn't go well because I didn't have quite the right tools (good at making holes, not rings).
 
I've got quarter mod comfies and balanced termination, but that's all and may stay that way for ever now because they're just my knock around phones, but they're great!

Nice! V200. Pity I sold my TH900... I bet it would have sounded spectacular on that.

Do you have a different HD800 cable though? Did you end up getting a cable from Frank?

No, I think I will put that money into a better DAC and amp first. The Polaris is quite nice, but not sure if it is worth the $600 asking price TBH.
