I actually use a leather headband from the K501 which can be fit to the K340 after boring a couple holes in it. It works quite well... I think there are some pictures that show it in the Hamilton mini meet impressions thread.

Congrats! I am glad the famous NOS K340 ended up in good hands/ears: I had the top bid on them and was contacted by the seller, but Larry snatched them at the last moment

Enjoy!

Please excuse my ignorance, but what does NOS stand for?

Nope, you stole my idea... I did it first.

Actually I got the idea from Number9 who used to post on here. Most of the collected K340 mods come from him.

:) I actually didn´t know you had the "same" headband - I just thought that a k500 pair with one broken driver would be something nice to sacrifice for a nice unique!!

headband mod

I got my dt 880 and I think they will be my favorite pair of headphones for a while!

I agree the K501/K500 headband looks nice on the K340s. Glad you like the DT880's... I thought they were quite nice, but not really my cup of tea.

Thanks. The day I got them they were cleaned, recabled, and modded. The ones I got are the origional version with the AKG written on top. They sound wonderful. I will post pictures later on tonight. My fiancee wants to do a photoshoot of them, my HD650's and SA5000's. I will say though you have never seen a cable sleeved with this
wink.gif
. The cable is 24gauge silver plated copper wire covered in teflon. The cable I made is about 2 - 3 times softer and more flexable then the stock cable.

I'd be very interested in what this soft sleeve material is and where I can get some.

Cool Meine AKG K340 elektrostatisch-dynamisches System Kopfhörer sind gerade angekommen!

..."der Kopfhörer" so "Mein AKG K340 elektrostatisch-dynamisches System Kopfhörer ist gerade angekommen!" ...its only one.

9 pages and I still have only the foggiest idea about what all the fuss is about!
Seems like you dug up a gem though!
Good luck with that...
