Meet The FiiO M7: An Exynos 7270-Powered HiFi Music Player
Jul 13, 2020 at 7:11 PM Post #721 of 792
Hi, I just received my Fiio M7 today. Two things concerned me.

1. After charging, it wouldn't power on. I held the buttons to reboot it and it works now. For this to happen out of the box though?
2. I also note that in unboxing videos the clear case was inside the box. Mine was already on the player.

Any chance this was a used item?

Dear user,

1. It may be a system bug, and you could force a restart by holding the power button+play button at the same time for about 15s for help.
2. In earlier batch, the clear case was inside the box. But in later batch, the clear case is applied in the M7 before factory out.

Best regards

No, FM radio works only with wired headphones and can't transmit music wirelessly, even to bluetooth headphones.

Thank you. Have you tried connecting earphones to M7 and playing FM first >> and then turning on Bluetooth on M7 and >> use only LDAC to transmit the same signal onto any LDAC receiver DAP/headphones?

I'm thinking of picking up the M7 to primarily use with my Sennheiser Momentum 2 True Wireless earbuds.

Bluetooth is very important to me and from what I can gather, it's solid on this device. Would you agree? I'm hoping it's clean to pair with, drop-out free, etc.

aptX is important to me. Connecting my Sennheiser's to my iMac and using aptX is a noticeable improvement over AAC on my iPhone. Can I assume the same improvement using aptX on the M7?

Last question. Will I be able to use the touch controls on my Sennheiser wireless earbuds to stop/start playback, advance to the next track, go back to the previous track and control volume?

I appreciate your help!

Terry.

Dear user,

Thanks for your interest in our M7. I think it could drive your Bluetooth headphone well. And if there are local store in your city, you could also have a try there first: https://www.fiio.com/wheretobuy

Thank you Fiio.

I checked the "wheretobuy' list and unfortunately, the Canadian vendor does not have a store in my city.

Would you be able to find out the answer to my third question: Will I be able to use the touch controls on my wireless earbuds to stop/start playback, advance to the next track, go back to the previous track and control volume?

I've not found any information on this topic in all my research so far.

Thank you.

Dear user,

I tested the JadeAudio EW1 with the player, the pre/next function in earbuds could control the playback, but the start and stop fail. I am not sure about the compatibility with your own wireless earbuds.

Best regards

Hello and nice to meet you, all! :)

I bought my M7 like 3 days ago from Amazon UK. It came with M7-FW1.0.7 firmware which I immediately upgraded to version FW1.0.8, following all recommendations. I am using a SanDisk Ultra 128 GB microSDXC Memory Card and I formatted it on my other player, a FiiO M3K. I own this one, as well.

I am observing flickering / flashing in the File Management.
This was also crashing as soon as I was trying to load a song, however this crashing has been resolved after following this fix
This was suggested from FiiO support, who I have already contacted.

The flickering / flashing of the File Management App, though, still persists. This does not happen in any other menu.

I have also tried re-flashing the firmware, factory resets, clearing cache... Nothing helps.

Can anyone help, please?

EDIT: here's a video of this issue, hope it works
