I had westone 3 and P1 is also very comfortable. Yesterday I listened to music in bed for 4 hours maybe and no discomfort at all.
If westone is 10 in terms of comfort, P1 would be 9.

Could anyone give me a comparison w/ the Sony Mdr-ex800st, being that they are both single drivers? or the new Future Sonics?...of the Focal Sphere?  There really are no shops in south Florida, so I really try to read up on this stuff.
Thanks,

i can compare to the mdr 7550 if u r interested? As compare to Focal Sphear, P1 has greater dynamics and presentation. Wider soundstage and bass is clear. Generally speaking, P1 excels in every departments compared to the Sphear. That's my take!

Absolutely for the 7550, I know they're the same...but yes, compare away, lol
So the P1 justifies the $50 difference vs. the Sphere....ok...thanks for the input...

The 7550 is rough on the lows as compared to the P1. Regarding midrange, I must say both iems did an excellent job on it. Smooth, lush, silky. However, I prefer P1 due to the forwardness in the upper mids whereby the 7550 is laidback. 7550 is more dark than the P1. here, we talk about the soundstage. Just like the legendary MDR EX1000, 7550 has similar depth of soundstage hence wider than the P1. The 7550's treble though lacks the extension like the P1, hence it is normal to feel veiled. Details and imaging, the 7550 (because its not ex1000) loses to the P1. Conclusion: the p1 technical performance is better than the 7550 however depends on the music you listen to also. Personally I like how the p1 tackles the details than the 7550. Its more smooth and soothing but if u are craving for soundstage definitely 7550

Thanks for the comparisons. I found the 7550 to be too bassy when extensively auditioning it. The EX1000 had its strengths but its forward treble and upper midrange  is what essentially drove me to sell it. I am hoping P1 is more controlled in the upper mids and treble.

7550 is basically a se535 with better technical performance. Personally I would say the EX1000 has similar forwardness in a sense that they dont sound too piercing. However. the ex1000 definitely has better details which may sound fatiguing in the long time compared to P1 which is on the verge of sounding cold due to the details but in actual fact it is not. The winner for me is still P1. Mee Audio has done a fantastic job in this

But I read in multiple places (and saw on several graphs) that the upper mids are recessed

thats what I perceive. After all sound is subjective. Although graphs determine the exact details but what your hear is different.
