I got the Onkyo E700M instead of the P1. Very similar sound signature at one-third price.

Good for you! Be happy with your choice, and ignore those who say it might have been different. That is the beauty of our hobby. Congrats and great listening!

My review is the bestest, because slam dunks by short people.

Hi guys,

I recently gave my P1's to a friend, and I almost bought another pair to replace my missing one, but I thought I might try something new. Are there any IEM's in this price bracket that sounds similar to the P1's?

Only requirement is that they have to be worn straight down. I would like to try a balanced armature, as I've had dynamic drivers for the past 3 or 4.

Thanks,
Sesameopen

Perhaps you should read this interesting review by @Brooko - Some great comparisons to similar earphones http://www.head-fi.org/products/mee-audio-pinnacle-p1-high-fidelity-audiophile-in-ear-headphones-with-detachable-cables/reviews/16704

P1 are really strange earphones. I've had probably the only one test-unit in Europe before the official premiere. Back then I've paired them with custom-built iMod+Fiio E12A. THis combo was... well, mind-blowing. They left a huge impression and to be honest, I liked them better than my Fidue A83. Especially with a custom 8-strand hybrid cable (4 strands of pure copper and 4 strands of pure silver). Then I've changed my rig to iBasso DX80 soon to be joined by Aune B1 and sadly, they don't like each other very much. It's almoast painful as the P1 happen to sound better with my full-stock Galaxy Note 4 than with iBasso. Having quite a few IEMs I've decided to sell my pair od P1 serial No. 666 (not a joke), because on-the-go I prefer my Sennheiser IE80 or RHA MA750.

Sadly, I'm not planning to invest any more money in DAPs. Right now I'm waiting for my Seiun Pro X and thinking about eventually buying iPod Touch 5G for bicycle rides and stuff that demands long-lasting battery. I also hope to get my wife more interested in audio by buying the pink iTouch :D
