MEE Audio Pinnacle P1 - $199 Dynamic Driver Flagship *Reviews 2nd Post*

I compared 3 pairs. After burning one pair in for 150 hours, there was no difference between it and either of the brand new pairs.  However, it seemed as if they burned in because my expectations adapted around the sound, which is normal. No actual change in the drivers though.

If you don't like them at first, give yourself a chance to get used to them.

I'm really enjoying my set with Sony noise isolating foam filled silicone tips. They fit perfectly and sound wonderful and are super comfortable. Possibly the most comfortable over ear set I've ever owned!

Finally got my hands on a pair of these. Quick question though, how do you clean them (as in the filter on the nozzle)? Thanks! :)

How do these compare to the SE215 special editions? From what Ive read, these should have a much lower bass presence and bigger soundtage, but would love to hear from people that have tried both. Isolation is also important for me as well (are these vented?)

MEE recommends a Q tip and hydrogen peroxide.  If it becomes a problem, I recommend scrubbing your ears real good inside after each shower.  I sometimes get dry skin living in a desert state and just keeping the ears as clean as possible helps prevent issues.

I think the question,is regarding ,cleaning the nozzles, not your ears.

No,doctor, will recommend using a Q-tip ever, because it can damage your ears, and actually push wax, further into the, ear canal.
If the ear gets totally clogged,,you need to pour Debrox into the ear, loosely put a small piece of cotton in the ear,for about 30-60 minutes, laying down on your side, to loosen up the wax, then blow it out with warm water & hydrogen peroxide, using a special rubber bulb shaped tool,{available at any drug store,CVS},or,go to your doctor,or,ear specialist.

I usually go this this routines about 3-4 times a year, with my wife helping me--not a pleasant task.
It has to do with the shape of your ear canal,& the amount of wax build up, from shampoo & soap,

Hope this helps,
Mike

As I said, MEE recommends cleaning the nozzles with cotton swabs and hydrogen peroxide and there's nothing wrong with that.
As for the rest, how do you suppose the nozzles get dirty?  (it's the ears)
To prevent skin from ending up on the units, I use a hand towel to remove dry skin from the ear.  A swab doesn't need to be plunged into the canal to accomplish basic cleaning of the ear where the units rest against.  Of course one shouldn't go probing internally and common sense precautions apply.
If someone's ear is leaking wax to the extent that it's traveling the length of the tip and reaching the nozzle of the metal earpiece, I recommend they either clean the tips more often or consult a doctor (if it's clogging that far within a few uses).

Thanks! The reason I'm asking is because on my previous pair of earphones when I attempted to clean the nozzle, that little piece of filter on the nozzle broke, so I'm kinda worried that it will damage the P1 the same way...

I know exactly what you're saying. I haven't had problems with the P1 screens this far. I gently brushed a swab against the screen a couple times and the screens stayed in place. I've had others where the screens fall right off.
