Hi,

This device looks really interesting.

But I would have several questions about it and the app.

I also posted some of those questions on the Matrix Audio community thing. Not sure what the delay for answers is there so I post it here also.

My first question is about the app and is really simple :
- Does the MA Remote app allow to browse the files on the USB stick hooked up to the mini-i Pro 4 using the "Album artist" tag ?

I am asking because as a classical music listenr I have several interpretations of the same work but by diferent conductors and orchestras.
And here the Album Artist track comes in quite handy to sort that

Thanks for your answers.

Hi @PenguinHeadphoner ,

Thanks for the interesting question. Unfortunately, the remote app does not allow users to browse the files on the USB stick hooked up to the Mini-i Pro 4 using the "Album artist" tag.
I hope this helps.

Hi,

It lloks like this feature has been asked on the community for Matrix and that Matrix has answered they're working on it.
But that was already quite a time ago... So as many other manufacturers : promises, promises...

Anyways, if you can ask this other question :
Will I be able to enable something like "DLNA Server" or "UPnP server" so I can access the files with a third party app (thinking of Bubble UPnP or mConnect or UAPP).
That may make the lack of the Album artist tag irrelevant :-)

Thanks a lot for your answer.

Regards.

Hi,

Thanks a lot.
I don't know how long it takes for them to reply...

But I foud a guy living next to me (in Europe/France/Paris) who happens to have one.
He kindly offered me to lend me his unit for the week-end.

I'll probably be able to report and share my now slightly growing experience with AIO streamers/DAC/HP amps

And if I like it, to get one for myself !

UPDATE :
OK, got the unit.

And here a super quick first impressions.

First about the soud : listening to tracks from a USB drive to the mini-i Pro 4 using Moondrop Venus headphones.
The first impression is... impressive.
I suddenly had the impression that the soundstage has become super wide compared to what it was before.

Second : software and hardware features are NOT ON PAR with sound unfortunately... At least they do not fullfill my needs at all :frowning2:

Third : but considering the problems I thiink they can be circumvented quite easily...

So let's see how it goes.
