Is it just me or do the outputs of the OCK-2 square waves sound subtly different?

The most lively music combo is to connect output #1 with the LMR400 cable to the DAC (x26pro) and the HT DC3 cable with output #2 to the DDC (u18).
Any other combination just doesn't sound as lively.
For example, using output #3 with either cable or just using the HT DC3 cable alone connected to the DDC (u18) and setting the DAC to INT mode (sounds smooth but the background music doesn't pop or come alive unless I use the LMR400 in combination).

You are not alone, I also found the different output sounds different, even on same settings.

However, do take the lid out first to check whether the settings of all outputs are the same. On my unit some output is defaulted to grounded and some to ungrounded, that of course will result in a difference in sound. I manually set all to the same and still different output ports sound different. It may be having to do with run-in, because I only use 2 of the outputs, maybe the other unused terminal will sound the same after long run-in.

Do play around with the grounding settings as well. Theoretically, all grounded should be best. But I found in my system, my connection to DDC is best ungrounded and then connection to DAC is grounded.

Thats very interesting.

Maybe it loses power as it goes down the chain of clock outputs?

Maybe the outputs are daisy chained like in a cheap surge protector.

Just ordered a length of Neotech 2001 pure silver 75 ohm from Audiophonics, along with a pair of Canare BCP-A77 BNC connectors that use gold-plated beryllium copper contacts.

I don't feel I need anything more than those plugs, the quality looks top notch.

Telegartner 141 cables with plugs made, very easy to assemble - it went quickly. Technically quite good performance, much better in my opinion than the Gustard C2 cable and the cable included with the LHY.
Finally, an all-50 ohm cable with non-magnetic plugs.
Unfortunately, there is no time to compare with other cables.

Handsome job!

But, aren't the LHY's BNC sockets 75 ohms?

I am very curious, what sockets does the OCK-2 clock have?
The Gustard C18 should be 50 ohms.

It is hard to tell from the pictures so I emailed Alvin and according to him it's 75 ohms. But things are always changing, people should ask before buying or take a look at their unit if they already have one.

Theoretically, if it is sold as standard with 50 ohm settings, and as you know, most equipment has 50 ohm clock inputs, then 50 ohm sockets should be mounted in the OCK-2.
It seems to me that there should be 50 ohm sockets, but I could be wrong.

Most equipment does not have 50 ohm clock inputs. Most hifi gear that has clock support has 50 ohm clock inputs, and this is a recent, non-conforming unintelligble choice by the manufacturers.

Pro audio has used 75 ohm clocks since the 1980s. Anyway as I said, I emailed Alvin and he confirmed they're 75 ohm clock connectors.

Yes, I agree with you, but the equipment produced now, especially in China, has mostly 50 ohm clock inputs.
In my opinion, if someone sells a standard clock with 50 ohm settings, there should also be 50 ohm sockets for logic.
Kingwa definitely uses 50 ohm sockets as standard, unless someone requests otherwise.
