Mikros still have The right balance of sound and I love them for that. These are also one of The most beautiful headphones ever.

However I'm just Fed up with The build quality. Hinges work so and so and I just broke a pair of pads that were hardly used. These have one of The ****ties durability I've ever come across and I have owned about 200 headphones.

I have had mine for over five years and they are holding up extremely well.
Leather/vinyl treatment from time to time makes them look and fell brand new. : )

Perhaps it's qc issue. Hinge on other side rotates 360 and won't stay in place even If I wear headphones reversed. I've used these quite a bit so I'm fine with that. Portable headphones breaking is not that uncommon :) pads are another thing though... Stitching/glue used is just bad.

Maybe I'll drop the drivers in some fullsize housing. Drivers are definately capable.

Today I was able to breath new life to My mikros of which 3/4 stock pads have broken and until today I'veen unable to get proper replacement earpads.

Enter exibel mhx10 aka kitsound Milano.

I't is a good affordable headphone so it is bit of a shame I had to do this. Most importance it is the most comfortable on ear headphone I have ever worn.

Earpads have a clip on system so things got a bit violent.IMG_20180211_112851.jpg IMG_20180211_113057.jpg IMG_20180211_113307.jpg I cut the top of the original pads to work as a dust cover and because I believe it might be importance for maintaining sound signature of stock mikros. I attached the cutout piece with bluetack.IMG_20180211_115308.jpg then I put on the exibel pads. Size is about right but because the pads are round it is not a 100% perfect fit.IMG_20180211_120754.jpg IMG_20180211_115723.jpg IMG_20180211_114747.jpg IMG_20180211_114732.jpg
I't has Been too long since I've listened to stock earpads so I can't give trustworthy comments about soundquality. All I can say is that I like what I hear. Nothing has changed much, atleast not in a bad way. Compared to stock comfort went from 2/5 to 5/5. I have big ears and glasses so mikros have been a bit difficult headphones for me to wear.

Pads needed some kind of system to hold securely on place. I was thinking bluetack again but I decided to glue them on. I't is not reversable anymore but I can't think of a reason why I would like to replace these pads. When they start to break I can just cut them apart. I'm so happy with My mikros again

Edit: two sound changes I'm quite certain. Subbass extension has improved and these are more position sensitive now. Soundstage can become weird If not positioned correctly.

Mikros 90 were iffy, QC-wise.
I wish that ML had stayed in the game and made some full-sized headphones stateside.
Yeah, it is shame. Well, atleast I managed to fix these and make them Even better :)

In upcoming couple weeks I will compare these to P7, m500, momentum over ear and Solo 2. Atleast two have to go. I have a strong feeling mikro's will stay

Tonight I've been comparing mikros to P7. I think I slightly prefer mikros. P7's have some revebs which I suppose are unaudible until you compare those to headphones that have clearer sound.

I'm quite surprised Mikros sound better. I need to listen more. Well... If these impressions hold I saved myself quite a bit of money :)

It's been a while, but I was feeling the need to listen to the 90's again.

Same old problem with the pads rotating forward (what a weird design!).

So I found my channel reversing adaptor and flipped them around...

Same old ear crushing clamp!

And same old GREAT SOUND!!!

That's it! I am going to get the headband stretched to infinity and get these suckers more comfortable so that I can have them in the rotation.

What's a good way of stretching them so that the stretch sticks, but without breaking them?

Huh! I've been out of the iem game for a while now (all buds, all the time!), but those seem to be getting good reviews, and they are only around $50. I'll be looking for your impressions!

Resurrecting an old thread - Searched Head-Fi but haven't found a definitive - Any good replacement earpads without resorting to surgery like in the response above? Mine just split today. I suppose I can get some cheapies off ebay but thought I'd ask if there is anything better.
TIA

These can do the job, but will result in a more v-shaped sound signature for the 90.

Just missed a classifieds sale on the Mikros 90 this morning, I am now getting pangs longing to hear the headphone you all love so dearly. It is sold out everywhere! If anyone has a spare pair I would love to buy from you!
