Martin Logan Mikros 90 On-Ear Headphones

Lors, Pata, or anyone, have any of you hear the ATH ES7? And if so, how does it compare to the Mikros?

I found this dt1350 review, that lead me to this m100 review, which led me to this quote from @Asr:

Which has led to me being interested in the ES7's!

Haha...buy it and let us know what you think of it.  I used to own a ESW9 and I didn't like the highs on that model.

If you keep this up you can create your own portable headphone review thread (and give MacedonianHero and Joker a little competition).

Thanks, but not a chance - I'm driving myself insane enough as it is!

Btw, why can't the damned 1350's be more comfy! Grrrrr!

Tormented soul... I'm getting that feeling lol.

I've listened to the 440's a few times. They're ok?  Are you saying that they sound like the es7's? If so, I can move right along!

Hey, I got lots of stuff when they were newish! Look at those cutting edge birds i got (that are already being overshadowed dammit!). I guess at the moment, at least as headphones are concerned, I'm in a "retro and oldie but goodie and proven" frame of mind....

As I get to know these headphones more and more, I begin to understand both their strengths as well as weaknesses. Going down that hole has never made more sense... seems almost unavoidable. I'll do myself a favor and give them the prescribed 200 hours first though :)

First time I put on the mikros in reverse, isolation was superb...
But after an hour I realised both ears were numbbbbed:)

What hole? :)

So general consesus indicates that the Hifimediy Sabre USB DAC and C&C BH amp work well with the Mikros, but would they be powerful enough to use on other headphones such as the RE-400 and Grado SR225is?
(This is basically the last thing I'm trying to work out before making my decision.)

Edit: Forgot to add, would the AudioQuest Dragonfly USB DAC be a better option as a DAC?

They say they can be powered by an iPod, so they should be powered by a portable amp as well. However you probably don't even come close to their full potential but that just means moar money to throw away in the future! :D

Just remember one thing: with this hobby nothing is enough!
