it IS a superior sound.
i wish Marantz would come out with another stand alone DAC.

it has bested all other DACs I tried.

I actually don’t find the Marantz to be warm at all. It’s pretty linear bordering on a touch sharp at times.
I know crazy. But other reviews have commented on that as well.
It doesn’t have a Marantz warm sound Sig.

What I find neutral is my Benchmark DAC3. Just wonderful sounding.
I never had a Topping DAC I liked. All flat and off timbre. Don’t know why
