Not really a headphone amp..yeah yeah, I know
 
My MF X-CAN V2 is in my bedroom being used with my tuner for late night chat radio.
 
I'm using an old Marantz 1040 int amp, And using it as the headphone amp to drive my headphones with the laptop. I just use it for when I'm going on youtube, and sometimes spotify.
 
Headphones I'm using at the moment are my old Grado SR80.
 
Not the best sound in the world..but sounds decent to me. Soon I might look for a good little decent headphone amp to use with the laptop. Any suggestions..be it Valve or SS.
 
Anyone here using an old Marantz 1040?

I've heard my daughters Grado 80i's on a Marantz 2215B receiver and the combo sound really good so I bet the 1040 sounds good also.   You ever see this thread?

I just found one of these amps in good condition at an antiques/pawn shop for $85-125 (what the other vintage equipment went for at this store). If i am listening through Grado SR-80i's would this be a good buy?
