Well, to get things back on topic, not only did the MD's come in, but so did the FiiO E11. Everything sounded great for the first 10 or 12 minutes until the charge in the E11 died. LOL
So now I have the E11 charging off of my laptop, I have the backup battery charging, and I'm listening to the MD's through my trusty old LDM+. All I can say so far is for the differences between the two amps. The E11 has a bit more bass weight and a warmer top end. Of course, it only has 12 minutes on it whereas the LDM+ has probably close to 1200+ hours on it.

Good to hear you like them! 1200+ hours

. That's a lot of hours. Nice 10 minutes, eh?

Yeah, so far, I do like them. I'm sure they'll only get better with time.

BTW, I'm way off on that 1200 hours on the LDM+ amp. I know for a fact that I had that amp running non-stop for over 4 months straight at one point burning in HD600's, HD650's, K701 and SR325IS'. 1200 hours is only 50 days. Realistically, I have somewhere upwards of 4100 hours on that little amp!

So the E11 can adequately amp these? What about the ZO2?

The E11 easily powers the Mad Dog's. Even the Little Dot Micro+ easily powers them. On that note, the E11 adds weight to the bass (the way it should be), has more oomph, and has a larger, more open sound stage. The poor little Dot just doesn't have the bass drive for these cans, nor does it have the wide sound stage.

Okay, is it just me or do these sound a little... cloudy/hazy? Like especially the vocals, for some reason I don't feel that they are as clear as my T1's, ER4S', or even my SE125 in that respect.

Other than that... they are pretty darn good.

Btw I listen to my music at low levels, if that helps.

I'm guessing two things:
1. Coloration by one of your gears.
2. Assuming you have the Dog Padz version, maybe you prefer the Shure pads version. Much clearer vocals at the expense of bass section though.

or..

3. He/she is accustomed to a more treble-heavy "fast" sound signature that deviates from a dark neutral sound the MDs are tuned as, and so in that reference frame the MDs come off as a bit veiled.

What's are the major diferences between the Shure Pads and the Dog Pads version, for those who have heard both?
In a nutshell, is it worth the extra US$ 30 for the dogpads?

Turn back a few pages. It's recently been discussed.

Summary: Each version offers different sonic signature.

I see... T1, SR125, ER4... all rather "treble-heavy" lol.

I'll keep at the mad dogs for now, hopefully I'll warm up to them even more.
