The LCD 2 also has a 16 ohm impedance although it is extremely hard to drive. The impedance may not be the only indicator. I am however biased towards amps as I do think they bring out the true potential of such expensive headphones

Hmmmm. Do you think that i should wait and look at more reviews for the new d600?

16 ohm imepedance on the lcd2?  Everything I've seen says 50 ohms...

Oops sorry that's correct. Still quite low for such hard headphones to drive.
