LZ A7 IEM's impressions and reviews thread

Well, time to reveal the title I have for the A7 (POP-RED config):

VERSATILITY GOD

I shuffled through a big majority of my entire library and there was nothing it couldnt play very good. The only exceptions are tracks like Kalafina - Heavenly Blue, where a thinner and a bit brighter sound would suit it more (like the Tanchjim Oxygen) and Metallica - Nothing else matters, where a warmer and thicker sound would suit it more (like the Final Audio E5000).

But since those 2 songs demand polar opposite factors, I dont think it is even possible for an iem to be versatile enough to suit them both to an excellent level.

The A7 surpasses both the A6 and the Fiio FH3 in versatility, both of which already is on a very high level (I guess the FH3 is the Versatility king while the A6 is the queen, since the FH3 suits Hip-hop and acoustic music more than the A6).

Also, the tuning....TOTL. An upgrade to the A7 would mean having a very similar tonality and sound profile while upgrading the SQ/technicalities.
(I dont miss the mids like I do on the A6 nor do I miss the air from the FH3 that prevented those 2 from being closer to TOTL for me.)

The sale on aliexpress is ending in like 3 days, my review should definitely be up by then. So I advice you guys to wait for my (or someone else´s) review on the A7 before you drop your money on it since it is quite expensive.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, but when I was doing my versatility test. I was also testing the timbre on it. And the "piezo flavor" was only noticable on violins that are playing on very high notes only. Suffice to say that the timbre is spectacular for a tri-brid.

So far I also love the red filters. The default black ones and the gold ones seem to have some potential too.
I've found that A7 sound better (softer and smoother) without going balanced.
Need more testing.

I ended up liking the monitor-red config more than the pop-gold which I though was going to be my second favorite config. My favorite is the pop-red config though but a very fortunate coincidence that my 2 most liked configs are using the same filter, so all I need to do to change it is to switch the switch lol.

Peter said he quite likes the "LZ-A7". I didn't forward this message. My bad. haha..
RIP, guess it is unlikely it is going to get changed in a future batch or something?

Haha, in fact, I prefer the current design over the prototype's.
I didn't know the change until they went into manufacturing. (The same for A5 Honda...)
Anyway, the sound is much more important than the outlook.
Im only nitpicking on the looks because I dont have anything I want to change with the sound lol.

Wow, I'm impressed with DHL. Looks like they are 2 days ahead! Should be getting them today. I might even have time to graph all the filter and switch combos.

Ummm... Really? Not change at all, even something super nitpicky?

Super nitpicky would be that the upper treble (violins playing on very high notes) are the only instrument where that piezo flavor is present (just a bit). So if that would be fixed I have no problems with the timbre.

Otherwise...nothing really. Changing the DD to a beryllium DD and the piezo to an EST would be the next level though. :joy:
Because I think the piezo driver cant really be much better than it already is lol and I obviously love the beryllium dd for the bass that is present on the Urbanfun/Fiio FH3.

That's the beauty of the filters and switch, changes can be made to one's preference/mode/music

Red-Pop does seem to be my favorite as well. Black-Mon is my 2nd. Gold is my least favorite. Borrowing a proto version of these from another member. If I had the money I would grab these.
