Luxsin X9 Desktop DAC & Headphone Amplifier Official Released !

May 29, 2025 at 10:12 PM Post #107 of 152
Noticed firmware 1.0.0.8 is out today, any change log details?

Edit*
The things I have noticed new in .8 are:

- Knob LED pulsing can be turned on/off
- Graphic EQ visualisation now shows format and sample rate like the other meters in the status bar

HP-EQ can now be applied to either “Headphone only” or “All outputs” in firmware version 1.0.0.8

What is the maximum native sample rate supported by the equalizer?

HP-EQ processes PCM signals up to 192kHz. PCM signals above 192kHz will be sent directly to the DAC.

X9 looks fantastic to use but considering ho it sounds i'd prefer the more punchy and dynamic Alpha Pro to the smoother X9.... TBH i'd like to have both and maybe the most similar sounding amp/dac now would be TA32....

@Luxsin
I am very impressed with X9. I have a few queries.
1. Does X9 come with transparent top?

2. Do both RCA & XLR pre-out and headphone outs output at the same time?

3. Can the PEQ be applied to the pre-outs?

4. Do you ship X9 to India? Or do you have any reseller in India?

Thanks

Any plans for a standalone headphone amp? Or an option to bypass the build in dac to allow use of a external dac?

So after some time with the X9 my final words😎

It's actually quite easy to give this device a recommendation...also on my part👍👍
(The proclaimed price of only 1199 seems to me to be too cheap compared to various other Dac/Amps)
Housing is really top.....the display/touchscreen make a very good impression....visuality/responsiveness👍

About the features....there are some that make sense....some not at all and I would remove them from the device as they have nothing really to do with audiophile👎

Personally, if I were to use the X9 then without its features.....as a pure DAC/AMP in bypass mode....this is clearly its strength👍
The R2R volume control with its clicking noises takes some getting used to
(I mean the ones you perceive when you have the headphones on....not the technical ones you hear)

To what extent there are various problems with the connection to the USBC port and foreign devices will show the future (lotoo/astell/fiio/ibasso etc etc)

My conclusion.... i think the X9 will convince many many people for the asking price

NOMAX

PS.But even more so if this still very unknown brand with its well-known mother takes care of its customers and thus builds up its fan base
(I'm thinking of RME)
❗️Simply explained...it is in Luxsin's hands alone how many they will inspire with their X9 if they manage to continue to grow through future firmware updates❗
If they don't, the product/brand will quickly be forgotten .... but if they do, I see great potential for Luxsin 👍
(LUXSIN....the birth of an Asian RME for headphone enthusiasts?....time will tell us😎)

Not able to bypass X9 build in DAC.

Any plans for a BLACK unit version and a STREAMER as a new Luxsin product ?

Thank you

What I can reveal now is that there is a high probability that the next model will be all black.

Does it use PLL for its clocking?

The clocking for X9 is femtosecond clock with Ultra-Low Phase Noise, not PLL.

The Asian RME huh? Although a German design, the RME is made in China.

Luxsin will need to add the aforementioned saving of settings per output.

The RME also offers automatic variable loudness . Not so useful for headphones but I use it all the time for my speakers .

Kindly offer a Black coloured version with glass top, not perspex. It will sell like hotcakes.
