Hello.

I'm about to send in my SE530's and my SE420's for repair. I'm disappointed with the robustness of both, but Shure's warranty's are solid — my SE530s have already been replaced twice, both for cable cracking at the ear.

I'm going to use their absence as an excuse to treat myself to another set of IEMs and am tempted to stray from Shure to something from Ultimate Ears or perhaps the Coppers from Monster (although the reviews remarks about the cable being microphonic does sour my opinion on these).

I am unable to order online, so I need to visit a store, preferably close to Manhattan. Could any of you fine peeps suggest a bricks and mortar retail establishment for the acquisition of said IEMs? FYI, I'm prepared to pay up to $500, maybe a touch more.

Thanks in advance for your guidance.

Hoss.

Shopping in Manhattan is going to be expensive May I wonder why can't you shop via online?

Theres a couple of places. B&H is popular as mentioned. J&R near city hall is another option and if you want some Japanese stuff you could give AC Gears a look. Of course I usually use those stores as mostly auditioning for headphones and such although it's not even close to optimal conditions. They let you listen to their cans which is nice if you just want to try it.

It is sold at retail which is more expensive than online and then there's tax which is a bit under 9%.

OT: Your town is fantastic, congratulations. New York won a corner in my heart!

OT2: Times Square is unbelievable! :o)

Cheers,
