I love my AKG 240M and have been on a quest to find IEM that sounds the closest to those headphones.

Has anyone discovered the closest match yet or think they might have heard a set that comes close?

I just bought UM2's and a little dissappointed but I think after reading some posts, I have to allow some burn in time and also experiment with the various plugs and sealing techniques to get the most out of them.

However right off the bat, I do notice less detailed nuances, shimmering highs, less soundstage, and a more forward midrange than my AKG's.

This of course is my observation on my ears which aren't perfect(according the the audiology tests) but I do like that AKG 240 sound and haven't heard anything better for MY ears. Genelec's and AKG's seem to "keep my ears happy".

I dunno anything about IEMS, but at least we know your ears are in better shape than you might think if you like the AKG studio sound.
