I would suggest trying to find a B&M shoe store so as to actually walk around in suitably styled boots (with several different weighted pairs of socks perhaps).
My experience with boots and especially the less expensive, is that they can be very difficult choosing a comfortable fit, as well as how they bend at pressure points and or chafe (or not) at their leg pressure points.
I've tried a few places (nowhere special), and I've seen some decent boots, but nothing like the images. (Comfort wasn't bad, about what you'd expect from a cheap shoe) With my budget, I may have no choice but to get something else... eh, them's the breaks.
^ Nooo.. just want some new boots to wear. It's my last year of college and I'm going all out (since I'll pretty much screwed after), new boots, shoes, audio player, love doll. Realize I haven't updated in years.
