Yeah, I'm looking for boots that resemble these. The only one I've seen that come close were hardcore motorcycle boots. I'm looking for something more casual and low-cut. I know it's a long shot, but what the hell.

Those are really hard to view; file size too small. Is it the (metal?) band that matters to you, or the cut, which is generic but looks something like this Timberland Torrance Chelsea at Zappos.com? At least to me that's what it looks like.

My niece wears combat boots, issued free with a three year enlistment, which is a very nice way to go

I think that the style term is "engineers boots." You'll probably enjoy this.

These are "harness boots", but I'm not aware of any that comes with such gaudy white harnesses.
If you're looking for something low-cut, then search for "dress boots"

I had some Danner boots that looked a lot like that. They used to be "standard" for mailmen when they spent their time walking instead of driving, which should give you a clue as to comfort and durability. I don't know if they make that style anymore, but they do make really nice hunting boots.

I had to find some specific looking boots a while ago too. I kept checking ebay and eventually got lucky and found a pair that looked really close to what I needed (in my size too!) for less than $20 shipped. So I guess you could just try browsing ebay occasionally.
