Alright I've decided on the m50s, now I'm stuck on which is the best one to buy? I'm seeing three"different" versions on amazon, are these the same? Is there a specific version I should look for? Here are the links:

All of those links pretty much show the same 'phones, they all should sound the same. Your not going to need an amp for the M50s but an amp would benefit them. Welcome to Head-Fi, enjoy your new 'phones!

m50 has two versions. straight cable and coiled cable. It lists which version they are in the item details.

If you're willing to spend $150 you could get a SRH-840 from Amazon. IMO they beat the ATH-M50 in every way.

SRH750DJ's have a LOT of bass. And you don't have to worry about any sound leakage. Their isolation is comparable to my HD25-1 II's which are praised for their isolation.

I'd also vote for Shure 750DJs, I returned M50 mostly cuz of lack of bass but I keep hearing the newer that comes in a cheap white box is less bassy than the old that comes in a black (+ on the border to harsh highs for some songs). I wouldn't pair "M50" with "big bass" that you're looking for in the topic, it's slightly above average bass quantity and pretty standard quantity for a closed headphone, not true bass monsters, at least those I tried, perhaps older M50 are different...

I see you have the sony xb 500. How does that compare to the Shure 750 DJ's ?
