  What exactly could I expect with a Magni/modi setup? It's kind of hard not being able to sample anything.

 
sorry.. I haven't had any experience with Magni/modi setup.

Well, after seeing so many reviews of people preferring the X1s over my AD700s, I went ahead and placed the order on amazon. Got a month free trial for Prime and paid the extra 10 bucks to have everything here tomorrow! I intend to make a new thread comparing the X1 to the AD700 with the Astro mixamp in the Gaming section. Thank you all!

Took a minute for my ears to adjust, but they are all around more balanced than the AD700s. More bass, while toning down the highs and mids, which were over powering on the AD700s and now hurt my ears at the same volume, which is great for competition FPS like CSGO. I listened to different music I could find, and when I put on some Lynyrd Skynyrd, they did the best! Really enjoyed that.

you ll probably get better results after upgrading your amp/dac later.  meanwhile, enjoy your new X1
