who has time to search for 'grados' on ebay every 5 mins to see what comes up

If you can show me an ad that gets put up and then closed in 5 minutes, do post it up.

Ebay ads generally run 4-6 days. If you're in the market for any of those headphones and havent' checked ebay within that time, you aren't really looking for it.

Information is good and sharing of which is noble. You guys are thinking like communist dictators.

Many people are not serious enough about buying - until they see a head-fi thread - and suddenly they take a look and bid. Call it a repressed or serendipitously nascent desire. The net result is a negative to the more concerned individual who has been doing searches each and every week, hoping to find a given item. As a bidder who has won a fairly sought after pair of 'phones - I resent these gratuitous intrusions on the bidding process and sincerely wish such threads would result repercussions for the o.p.'s on Head-Fi.

I truly can see both sides of this but if I were bidding I would be pissed if a thread was posted that caused me to either miss out by increasing the odds against winning because of more potential bidders. If I were selling I might, would feel differently but I can understand how some would be upset when they look every day or every few days for a certain something and then get priced out because of too many potential bidders. It feels good to get that great buy from time to time but this negates much of that possiblity this time around.

It is more upsetting because the OP wants the "hate or flame" PMs or replies. He posted this both to share the information and to laugh at the uproar of complaints that some people have towards his actions. This was more entertainment for him than for "the good" of head-fi.

Items like this are newsworthy. I don't think he did it out of malice. I also don't understand how people can feel a sense of entitlement towards an item. As a result of rising prices, it appears that more headphones are becoming available for purchase which gives people a better chance at actually owning a pair of these headphones. If it's a dream headphone, if it's something you've truly been saving up for, then the prices are the least of your concern. It's not like you're purchasing a big ticket item. Availability is much more important. If you're whining about the prices rising a few bucks, then you didn't really want the headphones bad enough. I can dream about owning a Ferrari all my life...read books, magazines, attend auto shows, and learn specs inside and out and feel entitled to own one, but until I shell out the $$$, I will never be able to own one. With so many headphones for sale, I think this is a great opportunity for someone that's truly serious about ownership.

Exactly. I feel posting Ebay link is because people tell what they want and can't afford, and at the same time, making it worst for other buyers because of jealousy. They post the link thinking it might help some, but also to I feel it is to piss some people off and hear the crap. Even people bid on Ebay just to make the price higher because they want to keep price high because they can't afford it at the beginning. Ridiculous.

If you want a Ferrari and some people just make the price higher because they are jealous, don't you feel pissed? Yes you have the cash, yes maybe you don't care, but you are pissed.
