Logitech UE6000

I'm new here, I wanted to know something.
 
I am planning to pick up a pair of UE 6000 later today, my taste in music varies a lot, I dont have a specific genre that I can call my favorite. I need a over ear headphone to replace my klipsch S4 in ears. 
My confusion is this, I live in india and I can get this for less than 100 usd , but im also checking out the ATH M50's, but they cost twice as much currently. Are they that much of an improvement over UE6000, that I should shell out double the amount. 
Also, Grado SR80i is available for a price midway between these two.
 
I can list some songs that so that you guys can tell me which would give optimum perfomance for these,
 
Stairway to heaven, paradise city, hedningardna - vartigmenn , I also like rap so yeah, im not genre specific about this.. Let me know guys, UE6000 seems to be a pretty sweet pair of headphones. Sadly, here we dont have an option to check it out first before ordering. Just about everything comes online 

 
Well you can get a pair of M50 for $120 on amazon here in usa. Just beware that the M50 comes with UNREMOVEABLE coiled or long straight cable. The M50X has removable cable but it's more expensive.

Some guys wrote already that the UE6000 is better But it's a matter of taste in the end.

One odd thing I noticed: the UE6000 needs a very tight seal to reproduce good bass!
I wear glasses and this leads to significant bass reduction. The UE6000 has to fit 100% right to make good punchy bass.
It can result in a unbalanced bass response as well (left more bass than right, when the pads are not exactly on the same pace on every ear.)
 
Probably that's why the UE6000 has mixed opinions about it. The guys with good seal are probably exited, the others not. 
 
My CAL! doesn't care if I have the glasses on or not or if the headphone isn't 100% in the right position.
 
The Grado is a open headphone. Totally different construction.

Pretty sure they will the UE6000's bass is noticeably tighter than S4!

Same day delivery? That's what I'm dreaming of in Germany ... 

 
But the UE6000 doesn't sound good out of the box. You have to burn it in e few days.
Be patient, the sound will get better and better  
Someone said 100 hours, so I'm still trying to get those on my UE6000 LOL

Yes it sounds quite underwhelming out of the box.. But man its comfortable.. Now I'm burning it..
at this moment my kilpsch sounds much better, but that has been in daily use for more than 2 years and it just kept improving..
Hopefully these improve

The burn noise makes me feel like I'm torturing my headphones
Like taking a timid, shy person and hard training him into a gladiator

IMO, just listen to your own music and that is burn in too it's not a must to use all those kind of noise to burn in a headphone. I usually uses my own music while burn in and listen to them while doing so personally.

I just got mine today, and I can thank this thread for convincing me Bought them for $78. Originally 88, $10 off because Amazon screwed up the color. Really wanted white to avoid the smudging. I never felt so satisfied with a headphone purchase before. More than average bass, durability, style, portability, price, and comfort were the things I kept looking for. I think the most likely candidate would have been the Sound True, but they're pricey, flimsy and not enough bass (IMO). This is everything I've ever wanted, and I finally found out. I wish I didn't have to turn on the NC to get that bass boost, I feel like it might not last (I'm always afraid that something might break if left on too long). Maybe I'll be happy with just passive mode, I'll need to test it out more.

I used listenonrepeat. It's great if you're using a computer, but it's messed up on android because it doesn't repeat, but it's not too bad when the burn in's 2 hours in duration. I can't use it now since I switched to an iPhone I'm on the same boat as you I guess.

Double price never equals double sound quality in headphone-world. people just buy based on what they like (certain coloration of sound or perceived improvements based on sound frequency preferences). basically, you can expect the sound quality to be comparable in certain price bracket (with certain headphones being overpriced or great-value based on the competitors). however, you often get a steal in SQ for price because the headphone market is extremely crowded and mid-fi headphones discount very rapidly after 1-2 years.
 
the ue6000 when first released was being compared favorable to other $200-350 closed portable headphones. they have since been forgotten and probably haven't sold well, so they are dirt cheap nowadays, sub-$100. 
 
the ath-50 is a classic that was considered amazing SQ/dollar at the $100-$150 mark. they have released a new ath-50x with removable cables to capitalize off of that good reputation.

plus the M50X is a lil more bassy than the M50 if you look at a response chart. I am getting the UE6000 in 2-4 days.

Anyone know why these were discontinued? Someone said that could be bringing out a new line, but wouldn't they release them right when they discontinue the old pairs?
