Agree, the Grado will be better for the kind of songs you listen to. But, remember it has little to no soundstage, mediocre separation and positioning also on their entry lvl Prestige model
The UE wins in comfort, sound isolation, and bass impact though.

So I literally found a pair of these in my house that my old roommate had and left behind.

Sorry to necro this but I just got a used pair myself and was wondering if it's defective or if this is a trait of the headphones.

When listening the music, the bass is slightly louder in the right ear than the left and it's driving me crazy. Is this standard or should I return it to the seller?

Run your music in mono and if it persists it's driver(or amp) imbalance.
It's a common issue.

Can't put mono on my computer but tried mono on my phone it's only ever so slightly unbalanced from that. Is this an issue with all UE6000s and 9000s or is it a fault?
