I just picked up a custom built amp on ebay based on the Headwize Single Ended OTL scheme (http://gilmore2.chem.northwestern.edu/projects/showfile.php?file=waarde1_prj.htm) and I was wondering if it would benefit me (subjective I suppose) to run my Little Dot MK2 as a preamp to it, or if it's even safe to do so.
The preamp specs on the Little Dot MK2 are as follows:
The voltage does seem rather high, and I'm not sure what sort of input voltage the Headwize design can tolerate.
The preamp specs on the Little Dot MK2 are as follows:
- Pre-Amplifier Output Impedance: 600 ohms
- Pre-Amplifier Gain: 3-10x (also controlled via gain switches)
- Pre-Amplifier Voltage: 10V RMS
- Pre-Amplification circuit includes both driver and power tubes
