That 1$ Reservation fee seems like such a weird system
Why not give 19$ discount for pre orders the regular way?

New psychological tricks from the sales department 😉

Still I think it's an interesting new sales model for both Linsoul and customers:

- Linsoul generates additional revenue by non-refundable micro payments for the reservations. And they get an estimate of interest in the product although this is only potential buyers (vs. actual buyers with pre-orders). Also, 1 USD is easily spent and provides another incentive for customers to purchase the product.

- For customers this means purchasing a 20 USD discount code (restricted to a single product) for 1 USD. Sure, that 1 USD is wasted if the code remains unused. But there is no commitment at this stage. Customers have the option for a discounted product but can decide after first reviews are out.

Sure, a pre-order can also be cancelled as long as it's not shipped. But this is only helpful if reviews are out early enough...

So I think the buy-a-discount model gives customers more flexibility with their purchase decision.

But probably the discount code expires very soon after release date 🤣 so not much time to decide then 🙈

To me it seems like a pre order discount with extra steps.
No benefit to the customer at all, he even needs to act twice.

Ok guys, so here is the catch.

For shipping these headphones Linsoul charges a minimum of 32$...

For comparison, the Sivga Oriole, a 199$ headphone, ships for free, as do many other products...

So this is where Linsoul tries to rip off their customers!

Was interested but not buying these headphones under these circumstances!

Its also available via Amazon and I believe you get Prime shipping (so free).

But yeah I do wonder why DHL Express shipping is the only option for these. I guess with the discount I “only” had to pay another 8 bucks (shipping was $28 to Washington) and supposedly comes in on Monday so I can’t complain much.

But yeah Amazon has them if youd rather go with them though still sold by Linsoul so it’ll likely take a hot minute before getting to you.

So with the headphones sitting on a stand/desk playing music it maybe sounds about as loud as my iPhone 12 at 20-30% volume.

Background noise I have an open window and window fan open so I can hear cars and of course my fan with nothing playing. When listening to music or playing games etc I don't notice those, though it would likely depend on what you're listening to.

Isolates much better than an open back for sure but you'll of course get some leaks both in/out. Personally I find it a decent compromise of getting the best of both worlds as it has a very comparable soundstage to other open-backs while not compromising on the bass, all with the sound being fairly tame for leakage.
