Just had a bit of a shock after I burnt a compilation CD for my friend. To check it would work ok I put it in my Linn Ikemi CD player ( 12 years old) and pressed play

Good grief the sound was so much better than via my Audiolab MDAC , (Dell XPS desktop i7 , 12 gig ram, win7 64) it just sounded more real, bass had more tune , the drums sounded like drums, voices had a rich , organic , human sound.

I need to do some tests on friends to see if they hear the same. In comparison the CD sounded a lot more analogue.

The Linn Ikemi was a multithousand dollar cd player based on 30 seconds of googling.. not surprised it sounds better than the mdac
