About android 10, i tested again with one plus 7 pro but as I said, i expect the same on v40, dsd playback is possible via uapp if native dsd mode is checked on usb options, both uapp and dac show dsd 256 sample rate.

We were talking about Internal HiRes Audio and not USB Audio. Internal HiRes Audio Driver in UAPP takes care of LG QuadDAC and supports native DSD audio playback in QuadDAC on Android 9. Not so in Android 10.

Hello,

Hifi-Mode = standard
Aux-Mode = mid gain
50Ohm HIM = high gain.

To force aux just unplug the left connection of your headphone.

To force HIM (high gain) you need a short extension cable and a >50 ohm headphone or an adapter above 50 ohm.

Plug the extension cable with the adapter or >50ohm headphone in the jack, than unplug adapter/headphone from extension cable and connect your preferred headphone to the cable.

Is it safe to do this at all?

Yes.
Both smartphones (V30 - V40) are sharing the same audio soc, V50 also.

Thank you.
Can I ask which extension cable and 75 Ohm adapter is good?
Mh.
Any extension cable could do the job.
I bought a cheap 4" extension cable from amazon first but have bought the Grado extension cable short after.

Grado Mini adaptor cable

An angled hard adaptor 3.5 to 3.5/6.3 is suitable as well.

Don't know which 75r adaptor works well bc i'm trigger the HIM with my old AKG K530 headphones. :)

If I understand correctly, I can first disconnect the cable on my headphones and then plug the cable into the V40 and then plug it back into the headphones? The headphones are Audio technica ath-wp900. Will there be any damage to the headphones?

regards,
Simon

Just unplug the cable on the left cup of your headphone.
Plug the 3.5 mm cable to the V40, it'll show hifi.
With the app hifi status, it'll show "aux".
Than attach the cable back again to the left cup.

Hey! Does any of your V40 owners use any device with V40 to improve soundquality or functionality?

Aside from an external DAC i use an HDMI (MHL) dongle to attach a projector or external monitor to my phone...

Hi. Didn't see many answers on this , so I hope it's ok to ask again, I think by now many tested both V40 and V50. So does the V50 and V40 sounds exactly the same with the same amp power considering both are tuned by Meridian?
