Most earphones (in-ear) are gonna be low impedance. Off the top of my head I know the Pinnacle P1's are 50ohms and well-regarded, but I've never heard them myself. Also don't know if they're in your price range

Just now I got after some searching

Found two in ear buds activating quad dac... 50+ ohms

Soundmagic ES-50
and
Sony MDR 510-AS
both are 50+ ohms earphones that I found good and cheapest.

I can certainly confirm that the mee pinnacle p1 does indeed pair very well with the v20! And using the mee cable does not require any "trick" to go into high-impedance mode. Using some control cables it does not however. But it sounds great paired with v20!

I have some aptx headphones connected to the V20 but don't see anything displayed that indicate my headphones are aptx capable. Does the V20 display anything other than the normal bluetooth symbol for aptx devices? I have a couple other devices that indicate whether it's SBC or aptx.

@harpo1,
To my knowledge, No, there is no specific indicator on the v20 for the BT transmission type or codec.
But the v20 actually is one of only a few devices (so far) that not only has apt-x, but apt-x HD. Unfortunately, there are very few items available now to pair with apt-x HD transmission. Ive backed the Bluwave Get and hope to receive it soon. It should be a great companion for the v20 at least for BT quality of transmission with the higher apt-x hd codec. I'll have to wait and see if the amp inside the GET's pcb is nearly as good as a wired legacy headphone into the v20 however (they claim its way better than all smartphones, but not sure about v20). But i'm hoping it'll be a great alternative for good BT portable sound, at least with my lower-impedance IEMs.

I have the same question. My V20 will indicate Aptx HD. But it doesnt indicate anything for Aptx. On Aptx web site the V20 is listed for Aptx HD but not the Aptx filter. So I'm wondering if the V20 even supports the reqular Aptx.

You would think their backwards compatible but who knows. I've tried a couple different aptx devices and the V20 doesn't report them as such.

Interesting. Ive not seen any popup on my v20 for the BT, even though i have several aptx devices. Its just a codec and i'm quite sure its "working" or backwards compatible if you are hearing sound. I'm glad to hear there is an indicator for aptx-HD though. And i think that makes sense as the aptx-hd version does require hardware (the new CSR8675 Qualcomm chip) to transcode the 24bit/48kHz data stream. I'd suspect its similar to getting the Hi-Fi notification as its also changing hardware (to the quad DAC chip).

yesterday I tricked my V20 into high impedance mode with aux extender and Kennerton headphones, just removing headphones form the extender and inserting Fischer Audio Dubliz Enhanced's cable into it, so it stayed in the mode it was and man o man what a jaw-dropping improvement in a quality , I just could not believe , there is a big smile on my face every time I listen to it, never thought phone could sound this good !

So, I finally received my 75ohm impedance adaptor, the same one some members here linked to, but when I plug it in my V20 doesn't go into high impedance mode. It does go into the external audio device mode , but not high impedance mode. Even in conjunction with an extension cable it won't go into high

impedance mode. I wonder if it's possible they sent the wrong adaptor, although it has a 75 ohm sticker right on the ziploc baggie it came in.

You have your headphones + extension + impedance adapter all connected at once, correct?
