Is that chip any good?

That chip is great but no chip can guarantee a good sound if it doesn't have a good implementation...

Very interested....with 2Tb card support, Sabre ESS9018C2M and ESS9602C that can drive 600 ohms headphones. If it sounds as good as it's super duper specs then there's no need for any DAP...get the V10 instead

Honestly, the V10 has the specs that looks too good to be true but we shall soon find out when it's officially launched.
Here's the link where ESS announced that their chipsets are used in the LG V10: http://www.esstech.com/files/2314/4372/5609/Clean_LG_Press_Release_0-01-2015.pdf

I was considering buying either iPhone 6s or Sony Xperia Z5 but this LG V10 seems to be a gamechanger! I'm really excited about this phone as well. If it drives my Oppo PM-3 to its maximum potential (it's not that hard considering iDSD Micro can do it at Eco mode) I'm going to buy V10 definitely.

What's really impressive the second small screen that is always on uses only 5% battery per day, very battery efficient.

Think of it like an always on music control screen. Wouldn't that be awesome? You can skip, change tracks, control volume without turning on the main screen, kind of like physical buttons on DAPs. Finally a smart phone for us audiophiles.

What's better than being able to Tidal, Spotify and having your favorite playlist of high res files with high resolution audio and power enough to drive 600 ohms headphones and yet being able to make & answer your calls all in one device.....No more missed calls when we get too engrossed with our music on our favorite DAP+AMP when the mobile is ringing...worst still if it's an urgent call. Hmmm, this looks like a dream come true...looking forward to the V10.

Yes... And the battery is removable so you don't need to carry a brick (external battery) with you, a small spare battery will be enough.

According to www.phonearena.com news V10 pricing:

"The V10 will cost around $680 in Korea. Since smartphone prices are usually higher there compared to other markets, the smartphone could cost around $600 in the US. Of course, we'll have to wait for a confirmation."

LG V10 have dual front cameras. The purpose of the dual front cameras is for taking 120 degree selfie shots. Now we can make selfies while wearing our favorite headphones and include a wide scenery on the background :p :D

Devices video and sound recording capabilities are also groundbreaking...
