LG-V10 Hi-Fi audio quality review on serious audio performance

I've read a number of people are unhappy with Bluetooth, it's on xda. Overall, I was a bit nervous being with Sammy forever, however, I am extremely happy and have no regrets.

Ye but you'll get that for every phone.   From heating to bluetooth to wifi to LTE in all forums.    No issues here so far. Only improvements over Note 3.

My LG V10 pairs very well with all  my cars Bluetooth and it has amazing sound with my Sony MDR-Z7 as well as my JVC HA- FX 850 and I am so happy and thankful to LG

What volume range do you use with the Z7?

My V10 won't arrive for a few days but curious to know how loud it might get using my Z7s with it.

55 out of 70 should blow your ears with Z7...that is like one last notch for 100% volume as it is 15 per increment. For that said 40 is loud and comfortable enough. That was how I observed it when I reviewed it, and yes, I recommend pairing it with warmer gears, such as Z7 FX750/850 and ATH I'm 04.... Etc

Thanks.

The Z7 is relatively easy to drive but the real test will be how well the V10 can drive my mk3s.

I honestly don't think V10 can drive anything more than 150 ohms load. The rule of thumb is that to make sure the amp power is twice as required for the load. Sabres claims to drive up to 300 ohms load. So it makes senses to cut it in half. What is your mk3 load ? I am not familiar with it

Specs say 50 ohms but they seem to need more power than that suggests. Been using a fiio e18 which is also rated 150 ohms max so the V10 should be able to drive the mk3 ok.

Another member tested his old mk2 with the V10 for me and said they got loud enough plus had a bit of volume to spare. That gave me enough confidence to order the V10. I can return it within 2-3 weeks if the internal amp somehow isn't strong enough but I can always use my Oppo PM-3s which are much easier to drive and at least take advantage of the internal dac.

Either way it'll be nice to not worry about carrying an amp or separate dap away from home. Just looking for a very good (and full) sound; dislike the thin sound on most portables but we'll see.

After having the LG v10 for more than two weeks all i can say is nothing but good things. I love the design of the phone, the screens as well as all the other specifications. My biggest interest in v10 was the Hifi Dac, I plugged in my HD650's and I am very impressed with the volume & clarity. I rarely ever up the volume above 55, thats plenty loud for my ears, So far I haven't seen the need to use my fiio e18, I'm contemplating on selling it via ebay in the coming days. Thanks for the Amazing review Whitigir!

Anyone else using the v10 with the HD650's or above?

Good to hear it powers HD650 well.

I think it can power anything up to 300 ohm's with no hiccup. That seems to be my case with my HD650's, I can't push the volume past 55 or my ears will blow. According to ESSTech, the amp in the V10 can power headphones from 8-600 ohms, am I reading this document wrong?

The v10 powers the HD650s with NO hicup, I can't raise the volume past 55 or else my ears will hurt. Overall, I am more than pleased with this beast, I dont mind LG's Music app, i just need it to play music, that's all.
