Thanks for your inputs! How do you thing they'd perform from a LG G8 a 3.5mm jack?
I don't have mine yet but I have an LG V20 with the quad DAC. I imagine that because of the low impedance, it won't trigger the high gain on the LG's and might be lacking power.

I have the LG V30. I'll put a 3.5 adapter on the 4.4mm Shuoer cable in the morning. That should trigger the High Res DAC and I will tell you what I hear.

So this morning I attached a 4.4mm to 3.5mm adapter to the Balanced 4.4mm cable I got with the S12 package to my LG V30. Any attached adapter forces the LG V30 or other LG phones with the Hi Res DAC into Hi Res mode. I listened to Tidal HiFi Streaming and Amazon Hi Res Streaming, and there seems to be plenty of juice to drive the Shuoer S12. On my HiBy R5, in particular, the 4.4mm balanced drives the S12 really well.....they seem suited to each other.

Close to 180hrs how crazy good it sound. Really like s12 and timeless. Both affordable and sound good.
Thats great, but how di*erent are they from one another?

Thanks for the feedback!

Based on your experiment, should I go with the 4.4mm balanced cable S12 + 4.4mm to 3.5mm adapter? If so, which adapter would be the best option? There are so many models! Any recommandations?

Ok I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure you don't get the balanced output if you put a 4.4 mm balanced + 3.5 adapter into a SE source (I believe the LG V30 is just SE). If you don't have any sources with balanced output, you should only get the 3.5mm cable option.

Ok! I have the LG G8. I'm worried that the 3.5mm cable option won't trigger Hi Res mode. What is the best option between 4.4mm with adapter or 3.5mm cable?
Sorry, don't want to highjack the S12 thread!

With the LG V30 and probably the LG G8, to get the High Res mode guaranteed working is to add an adapter or short adapter cable length to the IEM cable. If it is a 3.5 cable you use then you will need a 3.5mm to 3.5mm adapter if you have a 4.4mm cable you will need a 4.4mm to 3.5 adapter (which is what I used). Never use a 3.5mm single ended to 4.4mm balanced, that way round, as that can cause some damage. The Hi res on the LG phones can drive most IEMs quite well......if you don't have an AMP or DAC with a 4.4mm balanced. My own phone the Sony Xperia 5ii does not have enough juice to get the best out of the Shuoer S12.

Sorry I don't know about LG phones specifically. You might want to search for the power output of LG G8 3.5mm jack. LG V30 has 2 vrms on high gain, which is quite a lot. I think a cheap dongle might do 1 vrm.

If you don't have a balanced source and don't plan on getting one, then don't get the 4.4 mm, IMHO. But if you do want to get 4.4mm, you also need to buy a 4.4 to 3.5, and you need to be careful that it is taking a balanced input and giving a SE out, or you can mess up your source.

Yeah, I'm just surprised at how much those adapters cost! Even on AliX, they are about the same price as an 8core NiceHCK upgrade cable lol (~8-12 GBP).
