EDIT: Initial Impressions: Great song. Retains the fierce and passionate black metal sound that Woe is known for. The drums aren't quite as intricate as on Quietly, Undramatically, but that's being nitpicky. Grigg's analysis of his own album seems correct so far in this track, capturing that angry essence that "A Spell..." had while having the songwriting sensibilities that "Quietly, Undramatically" had
Oh boy! A review perhaps? I know that in the EU, at least, promo copies are out... wait, it could be a bad surprise, like the rest of the album is Grigg's experimental hipster side coming out with post-dubstep shoegaze krautrock.
I listened to that one yesterday. It was really lovely! Haven't heard the third record but this was leaps and bounds even more interesting than the first two. Highly recommended!
Yes, I really like them. I stayed away from them in the mid 2000s. Just started listening to them in 2010. I like everything about them. They are very well recorded. They have a great changing dynamic to their songs. They even throw some great Black-n-Roll into the mix. All and all I hope this will be one of my favorites of the year. I'm really a Death-Metal-Head but if some above par Black-Metal comes along........I'm all ears. Let's hope this does not let us down??????
Edit
On second thought...........................How could a record with a fricking cover like that one ever let us down? I'm not worried in the slightest...lol.
