Symphonic death metal - lots of really strong tracks in this one. Damn that's some good musicianship.

The Devils of Loudun - Arcana Imperii

Good (great) musicians, but maybe missing a formed (solidified) concept or direction? I’ll have to listen to this many times over, maybe a goal will become more clear? I want to like this more?

Normally I don’t drop to this style of BPM, but this is amazing really!

Just finally getting around to this! Scorching guitar work, I’m all in! The whole classical thing is refreshing as it’s not my personal go to style of metal? But this is so very good, all of it. I would much rather listen to this than Fleshgod Apocalypse! Also I can’t think off the top of my head anything else close to this......so it’s strangely original yet derived!

:flag_se: Ofdrykkja (Translates as 'Overdrinking' in English, curiously).

I found this last night, couldn't decide whether to post it here or not. It's Atmospheric Black Metal / Dark Folk. You'll either love it or hate it, it's a Marmite post. I metaphorically spun it last night and I loved it :-

Thanks for reminding me what i bought the Denon AH-D7200 for. Such energy.
Really good album.

Yeah Fleshgod Apocalypse is not my cup of tea either. I'm actually coming at this from the other side - symphonic metal is my favorite style but it's kind of a stale subgenre outside of the big name acts with lots of derivative stuff (Seven Spires is a notable recent exception).

Fortunately there are more and more technical and melodic death metal bands that are working orchestral into their sound, which I think works great and injects some fresh ideas into both subgenres. This is probably the best example I've come across so far. Really good production too - the blast beats sound terrific on fast transducers like the Arya.

Bloodincantation is one of my most favorite death metal band from the modern scene, as much as I love death metal I enjoy dark-wave/synth/ambient/space,70’s prog music. This new ambient release is a dream come true! Absolutely loving it
