Cookie?

Arcturian was my first real exposure to Arcturus aside from some cursory listens to Mirrors, so I went into with no preconceived notions. I have to say, it hooked me from the first listen and I think it's great. The same thing happened with RIITIIR... I thought it very strange that people were bashing that album, but I later came to realize that it was mostly old school Enslaved fans who were doing the bashing. Expectation is the mother of disappointment as my mom always said.

Edit: I can agree that some of the transitions between songs are too abrupt though. Moments like 5:22 on Game Over more than make up for that (in my opinion) minor flaw.

Interesting that our 2015 Arcturian is actually a reformation album as the band fell apart from 2007 to 2011. I still have yet to get into their whole set of records. Sideshow Symphonies is actually one of my reference CDs to test equipment.

I was really counting on Arcturian as being my album of the year. Hellhammer has been my favorite drummer for 20 years. If someone likes the album and it is the first record they heard( from the band) I totally understand that.

I guess my expectations were a little too high?

Crazy that I never noticed the Hawkwind influences till this year, though you would expect they were always there, with the whole space-metal-rock thing going on.

Hard to believe it has been ten years from the September 2005 when Sideshow Symphonies came out. We may not see another record till 2025?

Lol.

You too? Guys, seriously...listen to Arcturus' discography from beginning to end, ASAP! I promise you'll thank me.

Let us know which was better (to your ears)? The HD600 or HD650. I am ordering a pair of HD600s soon. Still where I am in the world both HD600 and HD650 are the same price? Expensive. So I don't really know which one to get?

I have never heard the HD 600. I owned an HD 650 before and am getting another HD 650 along with a tube amp soon, from a CD trade. I actually just found out my lease ends much sooner than expected, so I have to sell everything off, unfortunately. The person who is sending me the HD 650 is buying my STAX SR-207 system. Anyway, the HD 600 and HD 650 are very similar. Most notably, the HD 600 is more neutral, while the HD 650 is more lush and smooth.

I have to find and move into a new place sometime in the next two days, so unfortunately, I have little choice in the matter. I thought I had two weeks before my lease ended, but I was mistaken. Tomorrow I will probably go to record shops to try and sell off the rest of the CDs I have here. The STAX SR-30 system (kinda rare) isn't sold yet, though.

That sucks, didn't want to renew your lease I suppose?

May get the HD 650s then?

Murg 2015

Almost never do we get a band which brings the energy from the old days to 2015?

Here we do.
Murg. Varg & Björn. 2015 (Full Album) HD.

I was subleasing a room from someone for a few months, so there's nothing to renew.

Gahhhh.

Dude, you're going to keep (not sell) at least some of your audiophile stuff, right?  I honestly can't imagine you being willing to live without hi-fi sound, man.
