Abd I own the only cassette tape copy of this album!
Yaaaay......
Do local bands that nobody knows count towards my e-peen?
This garbage video was filmed in my hometown fyi.
Yes, I've got Frost and Isa through RITIIR with the exception of Hordanes Land. Really consistent albums, all.
It's so easy for me to get on the never ending rat race treadmill of new music that I like to take a step back and revisit albums. Otherwise, it just feels like it's always about what's the new flavor of the month....not that there's anything wrong with that, but sometimes I feel like it becomes a kind of game on constant consumption. Like out of control OCD. What's new, what's new, what's new.
It's king of interesting when you line up all the metal you've bought over the past few years and ask, which releases or bands really stand out. Enslaved is definitely one for me.
Well, it is more for me like gold mining after playing Isa, there was a connection, the album is good on so many levels. The consistency of sound, how it pulls together their old style but contains something new and had an energy of discovery. They then really did continue the quality with Ruun. But they are original and not like anyone. They seem to have the material fully worked out and quality recordings.
So I guess I look to see if there is any more gold in the Enslaved hills.
I could listen to a whole album of that. I've always liked flamenco style guitar and dark folk, and the violin is worked in so perfectly. This'll most likely be my AOTY too.
