And GUESS WHO is mastering that record? Colin Marston. Cross your fingers.

They have had pretty stellar mastering on both the last two cds, I would assume that will continue...

Nuclear Blast USA pre-orders don't include vinyl, but Agonia Records in Europe do... should I wait for something to happen, or should I just order from Europe? Shipping is cringe...

Just get the cd, it should be excellent

That album came out in 2012, their new album hasn't come out yet, but I agree, it is totally crushing. Great album.

If the DR is over 6 this time would be good. Hopefully some influence from Steve Wilson might result in a nice 24/96 release. Who am I kidding though.

It was last time.

Don't get soft on us.

Just kidding-I've got their first two albums. Usually it's me who will post the less brutal suff.

Everybody needs a little melody now and then

On a separate note-it's taking me a while to warm up to Mobus Chron-Sweven-I can't get into the vocals.

I've been meaning to try Unexpect for a while. What album should I start with?

I'd say just start with their most recent one, Fables a of Sleepless Empire and then go backwards from there. Mechanical Phoenix is a personal favorite off that album. I think it's more cohesive than their earlier work, but their earlier music is still good.

Anyone have an opinion on the new Agalloch album? I don't think it's bad but a lot of people are hating it on various sites. So I'm wondering if you guys have an opinion about it yet. If anything, it made me appreciate what they were going for in Marrow of the Spirit more and helped add context. I still think it's a solid offering.
