Hey yall vinyl heads, do you have any cartridge recommendations? It should handle all this noise, electronic and metal **** and at ~200€ price point. I currently sport the default Ortofon Red.

Pretty cool Dutch pagan black metal. Soothing and 'nineties with some experimental twists. Clean vocals are a bit iffy but they work in the context.

What about a 2M Blue? Do you like your red? Some people consider the 2M Black the best value in vinyl. The whole line is quite nice. MM carts are fairly universal and they'll smoke any MC carts until about 1000 USD.

i'd heard of these guys before, but didn't own any albums.  caught this track on Sirius liquid metal, the breakdown after the chorus was so awesome i tracked down a copy.  freaking awesome CD

some really great lead work especially in the second track.  also iffy on the clean vocals but certainly not a disaster.  will have to check that older release out methinks

And on the other, OTHER end of the spectrum, contemplative, almost wistful neoclassical instrumental black-ish metal-ish music. They have another obscure release coming out under a different name. Beautiful music.

That's a pretty good station. A lot of 'core stuff but every once and a while they play a real gem.

The gentleman I received my phono-stage from back in 2009 had just upgraded to the 2M Black. Talking with him over the phone was amazing as he just could not say more about the Black. He thought you would have to spend much more to better it.

From what I've heard it holds up to about $1500 and then MC carts start to pull away. I'd say that's a good value.
