For me nothing gets better than Kveldssanger. Obscure, folky, cold, weird. I can feel Norway right from Bangalore while listening to it.
Shadows of the Sun needs time. It's beautiful but so minimal that one-time-listening doesn't do it justice.

I quite dig this. Trees, bushes, meadows and sparkly springs. Thanks!

Here's one for murky and dense bm fans.
Kudos for the Ulver posts btw. Perdition City is still my favourite though.

Have you tried to order from their record label, Zero Dimensional Records?
About the music, this is actually quite good stuff! Speaking of Japan...
Still unsure what to think about their vocalist, but Fastkill is still badass.
You guys post some really great stuff up in here. It's nice to see that it isn't all Whitechapel, Chelsea Grin, or Thy Art Is Murder. I just recently acquired The Great Mass by Septicflesh and am totally blown away by it. What do you all think of it? Also, I stumbled across some band from Japan that plays some totally badass Black Metal. I've been trying to order the CD for the last week but have been unable to get in touch with the band, boo.

Dense and murky? Pfft.
*edit* Now that I posted this song, I just realised that this is a mono recording. Stereo is for posers, I guess...

I heard it the first time; sounds heavier than Katatonia. Good listen though.
This is the closest Katatonia clone that I have found so far and hence reposting, if anyone missed this before.

The whole first album of Corpus Christii this song is from, Saeculum Domini, is awesome!
Also I made a mistake saying this song is mono: There are cymbals on hard left.

It's hard to get better than Mercyful Fate. One of my favorites.
