Nice top 20! Which website / app do you use to make this?

At least 3 of these are likely making my top ten. Listened to Sulphur Aeon Seven Crowns and Seven Seals last night for like the 15th time… such a killer album 🤘🏻

I'm using Topsters for creating visual lists. And yeah I agree, Sulphur Aeon's new album is killer.

Thanks for the tip regarding using Topsters @YtseJamer I hadn't heard about that before. I'll go through your and @Samarithan lists later, I spotted a few albums I haven't heard myself  Here's mine:

I had a heck of a time ranking these... my top 10 could all mostly change around at any given time / mood. However, Dødheimsgard Black Medium Current was my clear cut #1 from the onset. This is a massive album that requires attention yet rewards at every turn. It draws you in from the soft plucked opening until the eerie, skin tingling release of Requiem Aeternum. Emotional, heavy and with a seemingly endless depth... DHG provide quite an experience.

Fantastic effort. Now can the others please go back and rank their lists as well? :)

Thanks for all your lists. I added a bunch of albums to my library.

Big shoutout to everyone dropping their top albums of the year! Looks like I've got some serious catching up to do, I've probably only heard like 40% of what's been listed. 😅
If more than 5 people listen to the album, i don't like it 😀
"Now can the others please go back and rank their lists as well?" : no celebration tonight but a delicious dive back into my top to put it in order. Let's go !

https://www.metal-archives.com/albums/Dissection/Storm_of_the_Light's_Bane/768

I was super late to the party on this one, learning about it and finding it in 2006? Which in my Metal trajectory was actually unusually late, having found Vader around 1999. And really I was a regular Commercial Metal listener before that, but never considered myself an Extreme Metal listener?

What I’m getting at is I have returned to it. Playing it now in 2023-2024 it is completely new again? Strange? Yet Dissection is now more powerful sounding than they have ever been? I hear new things in this, and I daily keep listening to it. I have never had this happen (exactly this way) with a Metal record? It sounds fresh once more, and yet still classic, but really just fresh?

Top 20 with albums ranking 😎😁
So many others have been appreciated without counting those that I discover when reading the different tops on the internet. It's endless 😭

AOTY : Dying Fetus : Make Them Beg For Death
When I go to eat at my mom's house, she prepares my favorite dish for me. It's a simple dish. I know the ingredients and the taste. No surprise. And yet it’s an absolute pleasure every time. Such mastery in the preparation of this dish borders on perfection. Going to eat at my mother's brings me more satisfaction than in any restaurant offering more varied and original dishes. This album is like my mom's dish, with it I know why I love Death Metal.
