Yes. Excellent stuff! Different to categorize. (I tag all albums in Roon, trying not to create too many subgenres) What label would you put on this? Metallum says Stoner/Sludge Metal/Metalcore, which sounds to me like 'uhh... dunno'. Parts of this remind me of Mastodon, which I also find difficult to label. I'm calling this progressive metal, for now.

I have no idea how to properly categorize the URNE album. I hear lots of Mastodon tendencies as well. The clean vocals are somewhat reminiscent of Bran's vocals. Prog, heavy metal, rock n' roll, thrash, sludge, stoner, doom... They seem to morph across genre lines even inter-song (Memorial for example). Really proficient playing and an impressive debut for sure. Chalk full of catchy riffs and some great leads.Yes. Excellent stuff! Different to categorize. I'm glad Vadak is getting the plays and recognition it deserves. Truly a special album. I did get a chance to listen to Naiv and while it is also very good, Vadak seems to dial everything up to 11 in terms of creativeness and the production / mix is damn near perfect too.
