I have a vinyl rip of Nile's At The Gates Of Sethu, and I know that DR ratings on vinyl are pretty much useless it does give you an idea of whether or not the source was the cd master or not

The spectogram says the frequency stops just under 20khz, so.... tape source?

How does it sound to you compared to the CD?

Thanks for reminding me to transfer Nile albums to my iPod!

I was always impressed how much mainstream exposure that band got, considering how extreme they are. I still need to listen to their albums.

Start with Harvest Floor and go to their newer from there. Older albums were... not the best.

But holy hell are they awesome live.

I like Nile a lot because of George Kollias (Im a drummer) and I can tolerate Behemoth and Cryptopsy, yet to listen to the rest.

If you're a drummer I'd imagine you'd be all about Cryptopsy. Flo's a monster behind the kit, fastest hands in the game outside of John Longstreth with an insanely frenetic style.

Almost got to see them.. damn.  And my favorite is actually this newest one.

They're a rare band that has gotten better with every release. I saw them with Job for a Cowboy, Whitechapel, and Gaza.

I'll say this, Gaza left such an impression on me that I have one of their album covers tattooed across my back.

Now that is hardcore.

I used to want this version of the In Flames Jester Head tattooed across my back:

Here is a funny Cracked article I found about the band.
