Continuing with my Metal backlog: Gorguts - Colored Sands.

I have to admit, these are probably the most punchy/weighty drums I've heard on a Metal studio album in a while. Dem toms (not to be mistaken with Tom Yum Goong :p). Now I'm interested in those full dynamics remasters by that record label whatsitsname.

Proof that you can sound huge, technical and "dense" without DR3 ♥
Yes, I'm looking at you Fallujah.

  But it IS amazing

WITR? I listened to the first three tracks on Rhapsody. I like dark ambient or W'verTF it is, but it seemed kind of a mess to me.

Got my 5.1 blacwater park lyesterday, couldn't listen till late last night and not very loud at that

But it's a great mix, really clear and just enough "surround effects" to make it fun but not enough to make it tacky. Excellent recording and album!

Can't believe no one had anything to say about my Antaeus post...

Antaeus is a good band and they remind me of Anaal Nathrakh.

Did you hear the other two albums yet? A guy I know had the chance to be their drummer years ago.

I listened to all of them. Skipped a few tracks though.
The atmospheric bits are really nice.
But as a whole, I'm not thaaaat convinced by this band. Not really my jam :/

This one the other hand.....one of my favorite releases of this year so far!
