Let make an official heavys h1h thread?

Uh that sucks, I hope you get a replacement.
Hope so too, for now I removed both the "plague doctor" pieces, they really were faulty, but atleast now with both gone the pressure is equalized.

as you can see, on one elephant nose there's an extra notch, that one that does not have it was the faulty one.

Small update. seems that the left side is still weaker for some reason, and the clamp is not enough to fully seal the left side. the weight definitely does not help. Hopefully I'll get a refund as I'm not really looking forward for a new pair, and I'll have hard times selling these second hand.

These are absolutely huge and look ridiculous on my head which is about average (male). I think even with stronger clamp these may not fit a LOT of people with small heads, especially women, and even if it does fit walking around with these is NOT something I would recommend.

I don't think these are worth the asking price nor the early bird price, it is a shame, but it is what it is.

Got main some time ago but havent been able to really use them, but i found out my Astell & Kern sr25 cant really power them, works better in usb mode, but then the volume knob doesnt work. but then i remembered i got Fiio a5 dac so i decided to charge it and and try it and then i could really power them up really hear some power. Sound very much better and of course much louder also. Thinking about buying Fiio m15s so i can power them without a DAC. will check EQ settings and more hopefully sooner then later.

Got my pair, they actually sound pretty good, I don't mind the midbass bump, but a big issue is that the package came half destroyed along with one of the notches being broken or messed up, which makes one side's clamping force weaker and makes it not seal when putting the headphones on. What a shame.

Left side (broken)

Right side
Hello and great thank you for good quality photo of this sh#ty cheap quality plastic (looks like 30 - 50$ cans max.price) .Thats a real shame.
I wanted to buy it but now im absolutely change my mind

Question for Heavys owners: Can you connect these directly to a headphone amp using them just wired; or can you only use them wireless using Bluetooth. Thanks
You can, but for some reason, it's extremely power-hungry and it doesn't really sound that good somehow... connected to my almost $10k system that I run my 1266 TC from... It sounds best to me connected to my phone over LDAC Bluetooth.

Just received a loan pair of Heavys, so I could measure the FR. These definitely have too much upper bass to produce clean sound, so maybe they pursued live gig style sound or something. I feel the bass is a bit too slow and it masks other frequencies. Even though the aggressive upper mids help to bring energy to the sound, for me they are almost too much. On the other hand, sound is loud and wild, which might suit the target audience. Extra tweeters can be heard clearly, as treble cuts quite nicely through the thick bass. Cymbals, for example, are well separated without being too bright or piercing. With some music the end result can be fun and powerful sounding, whereas many times I would prefer less bass and smoother upper mids. The multi driver setup is interesting, as it makes the bass, mids and treble sound like they are coming from different places.
First of all, huge thanks for measuring the FR on the Heavys! And special thanks for sharing it in amazing service squig.link that I hadn't heard before. I had to register to Head-fi just to post this and express my gratitude for the work you did :)

I have had my pair for almost a month now, and I also found the default tuning to be disappointing. I had already tweaked the EQ a bit with Wavelet on Android and I already got it a bit better for my taste to enjoy all kind of music on these.

Now that I found this post and thread I was able to create AutoEQ profile for the Heavys and tweak it just a little bit to give just a little bit more sub bass. With this EQ I think the Heavys now sound really great! I enjoy all kind of genres with Heavys now, it doesn't matter if it's Jazz, Pop, Rock or Heavy Metal it all sounds a lot better and more natural now.

So again thank you for sharing the measurements those really helped a lot to make the heavys sound a lot better for my taste at least :)

Here is my settings that I have used.

And here is the Wavelet AutoEQ profile text file contents (just save to your phone as "Heavys H1H.txt" for example) that you can then import into Wavelet.

Thank you! I'll try it as soon as I can and let you know.

What I really don’t, if it is so easy to measure and tune headphones. Why aren’t manufacturers, in this case Heavys, doing it.
There’s still a lot of room to play with. I wouldn’t mind the H1H to have a fun signature after all they wanted to make a front facing sound.
But why are they tuning it so that it sounds bad?

I can imagine they have tested different tunings with some representatives of the target audience (Heavy metal listeners) and this is the kind of sound profile the test audience liked the most.

I mean these don't sound bad if you have specific kind of heavy metal playing loudly on these. I think the tuning is also made so the headphones can be played with more volume than usual, since for me it sounds better with the default tuning when you turn up the volume.

I hope that once Heavys get the companion app developed we can then choose different sound profiles directly from the app and that will give us the choice to really utilize the full potential of the headphones.

Another thing I'm disappointed is the lack of any information about the psychoacoustic loudness enhancement and SPL dosimeter. Those were one of the key features that made me support this project, the idea of being able to play the heavy metal music as loudly as it's needed and no to worry that you will damage your hearing while doing so. There might be something coming for the SPL dosimeter when the app is done (after all how else can you tell it's working or not if you don't have an app to tell you some stats), or the feature might have been quietly buried.

Just got my new pair and already having problems. I need help. Haven’t heard from Heavys support yet. First, Do I need to charge the headphones first before I use them? I only want to use them in analog mode connected to my headphone amp. I have the switches set correctly, but I’m getting on and off distortion through the headphones while playing music. Hope I didn’t get a defective pair. Thanks for any help or advice.

Hi got similar problem when I connected with sr25 and amp, so I just had them turned off, then they work great with great power.
