CLICK HERE FOR THE UPDATED SPREADSHEET!

Don't have Excel? Then...Install Excel 2003 viewer.

OR

Install Openoffice.
openoffice.org

Your MAIN rig please and the stuff you listen to the MAJORITY of the time. I'm so bored, that yes, I will compile all responses in an excel spreadsheet for giggles. here are the columns and some examples (Please name the brands/makes/models if you can!):

Head-fi Name (So folks can read your opinions and know where you are coming from. Of course, this part is OPTIONAL!)

ONE FORM OF Media (CD, Vinyl, MP3/level of compression, Radio, etc. If you listen to SACD more than Redbook for example, just put down SACD thanks. Har har if you put down Laserdisc or Dual Disc!)

ONE Transport (Turntable, DAP, Hard drive, hamster on a wheel)

ONE Pair of Interconnects/Cable (what do you use inbetween your transport and DAC? Or from your Phono to your Phono Stage?)

ONE DAC (obviously if you use an ipod, just put "ipod" for both transport and DAC. You can put your phono stage here if that applies)

ONE PAIR of Interconnects (What do you use inbetween your source and your amp?)

ONE Amp (oh yeah, bring it baby! including any info you like, as in tubes/chips used)

ONE Cable (name the cable that goes from your amp to your cans. Of course if you have balanced cables and they don't match, you can name both lol)

ONE Headphone. (if you use speakers, i won't add you - just headphones please! you can also add tweaks here, like pads, woody cups, etc)

If you use adapters, just add that to the appropriate place near the interconnect field. Notice that I left all power stuff out, like conditioning, PSU, etc - that would make this spreadsheet way too huge. hopefully folks can use the final spreadsheet to inspect combos that work for folks.

---------

EXAMPLE!

Head-fi Name: Jahn

Media: AAC-320 on iTunes with WAV I/O on Patchmix

Transport: Hard Drive

Interconnects: None

DAC: EMU 0404 - Modified

Interconnects: Headphile Blacksilver 0404 Breakout Cable

Amp: GSPAudio Graham Slee Solo Monitor Amp - Modified ("Pinkie")

Cable: Headphile Blacksilver Cable

Headphone: Grado HP-2 with Headphile Zeta Port C-Pads

FOR EASE OF FILTERING - please put the make first, then the model, then mods. That way, people can filter for "Grado" and see what pops up alphabetically.

Okeydoke, but for folks in the future, try to choose just one! For instance, if you listen to a portable rig and a home rig and listen to both equally, choose one or the other to contribute, thanks.

Well my rig is in a constant state of flux, and now that I'm heading to Costa Rica for 2 months, most of it has been liquidated... BUT I'll list what it WAS, and what I plan to replace it with upon my return from Central America.

Power-Amp: Pass Labs X150

Headphone-Amp (integrated): Gilmore Lite (New Style) with Elpac.

Cans: Grado RS-2, Grado SR325, Grado SR-60

Speakers: Definitive Technology BP2004 pair.

What I plan to build:

Media: Vinyl, CD, AAC-256 on iTunes

Transport: Technics SP10 mkII TT, Hard Drive, Wadia 302 CDP

Interconnects: Blue Jeans Cable

Amp-Interconnects: Cobalt Cable balanced interconnects

Pre-Amp: Pass Labs X1

Cheers,

pick just one media/transport/can please! if you put multiples it screws with the filter fields! i know it seems harsh, but try to just put down one rig, thanks!

I always knew you had a fascinating rig - but wow, seeing it all listed out. Definitely one of my top 5 most interesting setups...

I really need to try one of those 340's...

Best,
