LAiV Harmony uDDC Re-clocker/DDC

Now im waiting for Ustars C19 I'm very sure i will check AES/EBU connection with uDDC. So today I was check new connection PC Roon and Hqplayer, Diretta Host to RPI5 Worth Diretta Target on GentooPlayer. And here Altor USB to uDDC and LHY OCK2. To the Laiv Harmony DAC . And that's best sound ever on my home. My conclusion LM-845 Premium and Qualio IQ Ultra are so good. But still I see some things for future meant PC audio. I'm.almost finish, Ustars I guess and fully LPS will be last step

Just one question, how much effect does the LHY-OCK2 have on the Laiv uDDC performance ?

Cheers. And what about the Altor USB regen I recommended, how does that affect the uDDC/DAC sonically, if at all?

What PS are you using with the Altor?

Yes I added it between RPI and uDDC and it actually works , there is an improvement

If the channels are reversed, it's easy enough to correct using one of the 8 available I2S modes in the Harmony DAC. I tried a Gustard U18 which required me to use I2S mode "5" in the DAC...

In fact I just discovered that connecting the Eversolo A8 direct to the Harmony DAC over I2s in mode 5 causes L+R channel reversal on DSD only. PCM is transferred properly.. According to LAiV this is because between LAiV and Eversolo, LAiV sticks to the PS Audio pinout while Eversolo doesn’t. And since the Gustard R26 doesn’t stick to the PS Audio standard either, this issue doesn’t occur between the A8 and the R26 …

If I had known this upfront I might not have opted to upgrade to the Harmony DAC. I am now waiting for a response from Eversolo whether they can offer a possibility in Android to reverse the DSD channels over I2s. Spending an additional $849,00 for the Harmony DDC that can swap DSD channels definitely was not foreseen in my budget

Not only channel inversion, also pay attention to the inverted phase (A8+LAiV/I2s)
For an optimal connection I recommend the S/pdif between the two... then the tests are up to you..

With the LAiV set to mode 5 I believe there is no phase difference .. At least when I compared the diagrams I could not find a phase inversion, only a channel inversion.

That's my experience as well using a DMP-A8 to uDDC via I2S (mode 5) to Harmony DaC to HP2A to Meze Elites. It just sounds dynamic & natural..... very pleased.

@pjw241142 Are you connecting the A8 to uDDC via I2S? Does that mean you now have I4S performance improvement (hah)?

I'm curious if using two I2S connections in the chain provides that much of an improvement. Thx.

It sounds good to me. But I’m not superanalytical …. It’s better than USB into the uDDC but it’s not night & day to my ears… but removing the uDDC does degrade the sound …

Yesterday, I received the Ustars C19, on which I have GentooPlayer with Diretta, and I think that with linear power supply, it sounds just great. But I’m wondering what’s the best way to send audio from the Ustars to the uDDC via USB with galvanic isolation or rather through I2S. Your post really caught my interest.
