L3000 on eBay

Limited edition/rarity and performance dictate price curves. Just ask any automotive collector with a '69 Corvette ZR-1. The economy also has something to do with it, as collectors sell to a smaller market. Supply vs. demand. Don't be surprised if he doesn't get his price and then must either lower it or they simply don't sell.

R10's command a high price because they are a) scarce, b) limited edition and c) are considered a top headphone. The day c) becomes no longer true, they may fall in price.

Great pair of headphone!
Not sure what I think of the $3,500 price tag. Its certainly not cheap.

They are pretty but if you even have too think about the price for one nano second then its not worth it. What kind of beautiful balanced amp could you buy with 3500? What kind of source? etc...

KR, would you trade your new B22 for these headphones? I know what my answer would be.

But you have to understand that the HD650 was not limited edition prior to it's discontinuation if it ever gets discontinued but the L3000 was. But of course it depends on the demand as well. $4,500 PS-1's. That should be the price in a couple of year's time possibly if the demand reaches up.

Limited edition products will always go up in price linearly or exponentially depending on demand. Where as discontinued unlimited products would most likely have a different story. Lol.

The price shouldn't jump from $2500 to $3500 like that.

I recall the first time I want to own and can afford one of it. It was only $2200 last year (but somebody got it first).

After that there were around 10 or more L3000 appeared in the FS thread, audiogon, and eBay. The price are around $2500 except the one that reterminated with balance cable which was sold around $2700.

So $3500 is insanely pricey.

**ps. I believe if this is the L3000G, it won't last this long for $3500.

At that price I would never have become an owner of a L3000, it's near double what I paid 3½ years ago.

lol, I've never seen the L3kG for sale.
I'm willing to pay $2,700 for a mint condition, recabled pair of L3k but $3,500 is ....

me neither.

I agree the recabled one (either balanced or single end) for $2700 is acceptable, but $3500 for nothing but stock is non-sense.

Not a chance!
Cause my β22 are too special and precious. Not just $$ wise, but the history behind it and all.
