This is not like any mod I described previously, it is more of an experiment. Can you give me the model number related to the changing parts
With the faster i/v transistors, the DAC will not be operational until the feedback caps are adjusted.
This is not a 1:1 substitute that can be dropped in-place of the stock devices.
LKS changed the feedback arrangement for the newer dacs. My dac is the oldest Gen1.
I posted the adjustments to the feedback caps about 18 months ago on this thread, this is for Gen1
Will you be able to handle the task of restoring stability by yourself?
(Until you do, all you will hear out of the DAC is a loud screeching sound)

LKS I/V is 2 discrete opamps with a pair of output transistors on each opamp, a third opamp is used to convert balanced output to drive the single ended rca output. It's worth trying if it won't be an expensive experiment
The first attempt should be made on the 3rd opamp, if you can stabilize that opamp with the new transistors, then you can move on to the I/V opamps
The replacement transistors I used are KSC2690AYS and KSA1220AYS.
KSA1220AYS availability has become very low in the the last 12 to 18months.
My DAC is using these new values.
My latest endpoint is the Fitlet3, dual core atom x6000.
Intel's latest 10nm Elkhart 6W core.Fully passive.
Real time kernel for the lowest latency
Fiber optic ethernet, intel NIC, goes directly to the fiber backbone, 2 hops to the server.
Hi b0bb,
Could you share what PSU you are using? Thx.

I used the stock unit,Hi b0bb,

@b0bb
I would like to give PCM PGGB upsampling it a try. Witch 9038pro filter setting do you think has the lowest impact, sens there is no no filter setting in the 004.

There are several filters on the 9038Pro.@b0bb

- The oversampling filter can be bypassed by running at the highest sampling frequency (768k or DSD512), I use the IIR50K with DSD512 input
- The final filter before the multi element converter cannot be bypassed.
