Can you try to play this file via Line Out and stored on an usb device?

Nov 2, 2016 at 2:34 PM Post #33 of 256
yes it works via coaxial but I don't have a dac/amp to try the micro usb out, sorry.

I mean to try to hear via the line-out or amp out (headphones), not coaxial, and the file stored on a usb device via OTG.

The video on page 2 is the file playing on Meze 99 heaphones (recorded on a Sony ZX phone) attached to the x7 headphone out, on an micro sd card in the player but it plays fron a usb corsair (i.e. fast) memory stick as well, on a short usb female to micro usb male plugged into the x7.

Version 3.0.4

Still no time remaining shown when track is playing (in spite of several requests by many users and the fact that this feature was shown on a screenshot from #James a couple of months ago).

I have selected pulsar light off when charging.  This does not work and light remains on when charging.

I've just updated the first post in this thread with a slightly modified list of bugs/issues for the 3.0.6beta (the poll has now gone away, but I'll continue to take votes via posts on this thread and update the main list accordingly).

My experience so far with 3.0.6beta has been positive. While gapless playback still isn't an option in the FiiO music app (and I've heard no word of it being officially supported in FW3.0), the gap between tracks seems to have become vanishingly small by default. I still hear a small glitch/click, but gapless playback appears to be in much better shape than it was a few weeks ago. DSD playback is now working again for me! (If any of you have DSD files that still won't play, please PM me a link to your files.) The swipe up/down volume control in the FiiO music app seems to be responsive again. Yay! The heads-up display still fails to show about 50% of the time for me, but at least the volume does change. I haven't (yet) found any new bugs :-)

Without a change log how are we suppose to check to see what has been fixed.  Is there anyway you can contact fiio and ask for one since you're the OP.  I know it still won't scan my 200GB card on 3.0.6.  I'd like to help out but without a change log we'd have to start from scatch on every new release.

Hi @harpo1, I've reached out to FiiO on this, but I'd still like to hear from the community before confirming that a bug has definitely been fixed.
I assume you have a large number of files on your 200 Gb card?  (I've not yet tested beyond 4500 files, but I have noticed the scan no longer has a ~10 minute delay before starting.)

Yes 8900 files.  It found about 300.  I too noticed no more delay before starting.  Another member PM'd me saying media scan didn't find all there files as well.

Plus the files are still not in alphabetical order in file view.

Greetings X7 users! This thread has been created with the blessing of FiiO in order to maintain a single list of known bugs/issues with the latest X7 firmware. As of now, the latest firmware is Android 5.1.1, FW 3.0.6beta. I will update this number and the list below as and when new firmware is released. (Please note, I have only just received 3.0.6 today - I have not yet seen the bug-fix list or properly tested 3.0.6 yet, so some of the items above may already have been fixed. Other bugs may have been added!)  If you have a problem with your X7, please check the list above before posting. There's a good chance others have already experienced the same issue and FiiO are already aware of it. If you don't see your issue listed below, feel free to add a post and I'll do my very best to confirm the issue and add it to the list. If you find your issue on the list and still want to vent, please post on this thread to vote on it!

PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING:

1) Please check that your suspected bug/issue isn't already listed. If it is, just post on this thread to vote on it. Please save general X7-related discussions for the main X7 thread.

2) Thank you to all those of you that voted in the initial poll for the 3.0.4beta firmware. Unfortunately, the headfi poll feature turned out to be too inflexible, so I've now simply replaced it with the above list, with the results carried over from the initial poll. If anybody would like to vote on an item, just post in this thread and I'll manually tally the votes. Likewise, if you would like to vote for another item that you didn't initially vote for, or if you think you've encountered a new bug that isn't on the list, please post about it in this thread.

3) The above list is currently restricted to issues with existing, advertised (or one-time advertised) functionality. Perhaps if there's enough interest we could create a separate list for feature requests...?

May be I have missed it, where is FW3.06 available? I cannot find a link and OTA reports that 3.04 is the latest.

It seems that this problem scanning large numbers of files would now be the top-priority item, assuming others have the same experience as me with gapless.

All my files seem to be correctly listed in alphabetical order. I'm wondering if this problem is a side-effect of the large number of files?

Not sure but the alphabetical order is on my Samsung 128GB card that scans all songs (5894).  Here's an example I have 5 or 6 Dire Straits albums and all are in order except for one.  However, on the sd card when I view it on a computer they're all in order.  On my X3ii they're all in order.  Several more are out of order as well.

Amazon Music will still not stream tracks and for me there is still a problem with bluetooth connectivity.  Scanning a 200GB SD card started almost instantly and found 6709 tracks very quickly. In FW2.0 6736 tracks are found and in both cases the option to ignore short tracks is disabled
